Happy spring equinox (almost)!

Birds returning! Peepers emerging! Parkas put away! May the rejuvenating powers of spring lift our spirits, entice us out of doors, and relieve the tensions we've been feeling this winter.

--> Sustainable Horticulture and Native Landscapes
Quality, Quantity and The Original Heirloom Plants

Dan Segal, Owner of Plantsmen Nursery
Thursday, March 19th 6:30-8:00pm

Learn how quality is lost at the expense of quantity in the world of Big Commercial Horticulture, and how you can change that immediately, simply by knowing the story.  Native plants, sustainable nursery practices, and progressive landscaping ethics are three parts of a new whole, with people all over the world turning to their local natural heritage for inspiration in the garden and landscape.  Rich with all-original plant photos, and unique but simple insights you can easily apply to your own landscape, this presentation will have you ready to spring into the garden with joy and purpose.

We are very lucky to have fantastic local resources like Dan and the Plantsmen Nursery to help us lead the way toward sustainable landscaping. The Plantsmen Nursery grows more species of native plants than any other retail nursery in all of New York State, and provides native and natural landscaping and stone work to residential and commercial clients in our area.

  New Product Spotlight - SnackTAXI

SnackTAXI pouch image
Our lunchwares department has been really cooking lately! Apparently more people are packing meals to go, and looking for ways to make it an easy, pleasant and trash-free experience.

Our latest addition in this category is SnackTAXI - a line of re-usable lunch bags, sandwich pouches, and snack pouches that are easy to clean and fun to use! Take it from someone who has scrubbed out thousands of plastic baggies...these are a nice upgrade. They've been flying off the shelves, but a big order is on the way so we'll soon have lots to choose from.

Also arriving soon - a new line of food-grade stainless steel water bottles that are more durable, and more stylish!

To the extent that the media's relentless War on Optimism has given us the blues, let's get busy replacing them with the greens!

See you soon,
